City’s $100,000 investment spurs $700,550 investment in revitalization Image removed.TIFFIN, OHIO – December 16, 2015 – Yesterday, the Architectural Board of Review approved Façade Enhancement Grants for the buildings at 65 E. Market St. (formerly part of the Duck Inn) and 186 S. Washington St. These two projects will use the remainder of the $100,000 set aside by the city for Façade Grants in 2015, which has aided in $700,550 worth of downtown investment. “This program has been a tremendous success,” Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said. “It is truly amazing what downtown building owners have done in a little over a year, and I am excited to see the program continue with the support of the city.” Since its inception in Sept. 2014, 29 Façade Enhancement Grants have been awarded, 18 of those in 2015. “We’ve seen the Façade Grant really take off over the last year, and we already have applicants lined up for 2016,” SIEDC Downtown Development Coordinator Amy Reinhart said. Exterior renovations at 186 S. Washington St. will include window and door restoration and replacement, and the removal and replacement of wall and trim material. The total cost of the project is approximately $21,000, $10,000 of which will be covered by the Façade Grant. Improvements at 65 E. Market St. will include repairing and painting brick, at a cost of approximately $8,000, $2,476 of which will be reimbursed through the grant. Owner Bennett Paulus has already invested $115,000 in interior renovations. About SIEDC Started in 1983, the Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp.
