Brian officially took over for his step-father, Tom Rodgers, who opened the shop in 1947, two years ago in June. In that time, Brian has kept much of the business the same but added his own twist with new products and services. Originally from Tiffin, Brian moved to and owned a lawn and landscaping business in Indiana before moving back to Tiffin to take over the flowershop. After attending floral design school in West Palm Beach, and learning the ropes from Tom, Brian took over the business. "I've always liked Tiffin, it's my hometown," Brian said. "We thought about moving back before, and we felt this was a great opportunity." Brian immediately started looking for different ways to fill his store. When Something Special was going out of business, designer Curt Root joined Tom Rodgers and brought along local artist Sue Wickham. "It really snowballed, and it just made a really great team here," Brian said. Along with floral arrangements, Tom Rodgers carries homemade and gourmet food products - all made or packaged in Ohio, memorial items for funerals, such as blankets, stepping stones, stone benches and wind chimes, gifts and customized gift baskets, home decor and more. He also frequently partners with other businesses for events: "It's always good to work with other businesses, to help each other." For example, Tom Rodgers will be holding their 2nd Annual Tiffin Prom Fair Saturday, April 9, 12-4 p.m. Area businesses will join Tom Rodgers in offering the newest styles, trends and designs available for prom in the areas of corsages, dresses, tuxedos, accessories, jewelry, hair, nails, makeup, tanning, local restaurants, photo booth, limo services and more! You can stop by Tom Rodgers and see what they have to offer Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-12 p.m. [gallery ids="https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-2.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-3.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-4.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-5.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-6.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-7.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-8.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-9.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-10.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-11.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-12.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-13.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-14.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-15.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-16.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-17.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers-18.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rodgers-flowers.jpg|" type="slideshow"]
