TIFFIN, OHIO – Monday, September 9, 2019 – The Agrati Group, a global manufacturer of fasteners for automotive companies, has announced completing its investment of $4 million in industrial machinery and equipment at the Airport Industrial Park facility in Tiffin. The project took place throughout calendar year 2019, and the company looks to consider possible additional investment next year. Agrati employs 66 people locally.

In 2019, Agrati worked closely with National Machinery in Tiffin, purchasing a new Formax cold former to expand capacity. The company also worked with Arnold Machine Inc. from Tiffin purchasing multiple custom assembly machinery.

In 2018, Agrati invested $1.6 million in industrial machinery, equipment, and renovations to its facility, in addition to adding 10 jobs, brining its workforce to 66 at the end of the year. Last year, the company produced 177,355,326 fasteners and shipped 10,001 orders globally. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and General Motors are Agrati Tiffin’s top two customers.

The Tiffin plant was previously Jacobson Manufacturing, and was acquired by the Agrati Group in 2016. It is now one of 12 Agrati production facilities worldwide and two in Ohio. The facility primarily focuses on cold forming, tapping and thread rolling auto and truck wheel nuts, as well as a variety of tubular products and highly engineered safety restraint components, produced through fully automated welding and assembly. The facility was last expanded in 2013 with the addition of a 40,000 square foot building.

“Agrati is very committed to its operations in Tiffin and plan to continue to grow and invest here in the coming years,” said Agrati Plant Manager Casey Poignon.

Seneca County Board of Commissioners President Shayne Thomas commented: “I appreciate Agrati’s continued investment in Seneca County and we value their contribution to our local economy.”

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz commented: “It is great to see the Agrati Group investing locally for the second year. Thank you to Casey and the staff at Agrati Tiffin for continuing to be a great local partner.”
