Seneca County Masks initiative completes first phase

Businesses can order PPE, request free face coverings

TIFFIN, OHIO – May 14, 2020 – Following the launch of the project in late April, the Seneca County Masks group has completed the first phase of its initiative, having delivered more than 4,000 face coverings to people who have requested one and raising $24,000 from more than 200 donors. More than 100 volunteers are working on the effort.

The initiative will continue to provide a free face covering to anyone in Seneca County who needs one. For more information or to request a mask, visit www.SenecaCountyMasks.com.

As businesses re-open and employees return to work, the initiative has expanded its offerings to include an option for people to purchase two-layer cotton reusable face coverings. Businesses and individuals who would like to purchase the face coverings can access an order form at https://senecacountymasks.com/order/. The suggested donation is $5 each, and can be paid by check or with a credit card via PayPal. Purchasers will be notified via email when face coverings are available and they can be picked up at Seneca Cleaners in the Tiffin Mall, 870 W Market St., during normal business hours.

Additionally, the group has a limited supply of disposable (one-time use) masks and gloves (in various sizes) available to any Seneca County business. The masks and gloves will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests of up to 50 masks and/or sets of gloves can be made by emailing info@senecacountymasks.com. The masks were made available through a donation by National Machinery and CEO Andrew Kalnow.

Also, Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Services has compiled a list of local companies supplying masks, sanitizer and other personal protective equipment. For more information, visit https://www.tiffinchamber.com/coronavirus-resources/ppe-resources-for-businesses.

As requests continue to come in, donations still are being accepted and T-shirts are available to help the cause. For more information about the Seneca County Mask initiative, visit SenecaCountyMasks.com email info@senecacountymasks.com.
