Downtown clean up Saturday

Volunteers asked to help beautify community

TIFFIN, OHIO – July 7, 2020 – A downtown cleanup is set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, with registration at The Renaissance of Tiffin, 129 S. Washington St. Due to COVID-19, volunteers will need to provide their own gloves and masks and social distancing is recommended, especially for those working in a group with others outside of their household. Please bring brooms and dust pans, trash bags will be provided.

After registration, volunteers will be given a map showing their designated area, and are encouraged to work in groups or teams to clean sidewalks, alleys, parking lots and landscaping. Volunteers should focus on picking up litter, cigarette butts and other debris. Note areas of high debris or cigarettes when returning to the registration table for future clean ups.

More information will be provided at registration, including a map and detailed rules. This effort was coordinated through the Downtown Tiffin Retailers and Downtown Tiffin Design Committee.

About Downtown Tiffin

The revitalization of downtown Tiffin began in 2011, when a group of community members came together to for “Tiffin Tomorrow”, with the goal of promoting and encouraging economic development in downtown Tiffin, and creating plans, programs and actions to ensure long-term vitality and prosperity. In 2014, the city of Tiffin contracted with SIEDC to act as the downtown organization and “Tiffin Tomorrow” came under the SIEDC umbrella as the “Downtown Development Committee,” which serves as the governing board of the downtown organization.
