TIFFIN, OHIO – September 24, 2021 – Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) announced today the first ever public survey concerning entrepreneurship in Seneca County. The survey asks for information about the perception of the business environment and resources as well as individual interest in entrepreneurship. Any resident, visitor, employee or student in Seneca County can fill out the survey, which is available at www.tsepsurvey.com and will be open until Oct. 25, 2021. Participants will be entered into a $25 gift card drawing.

Information from the confidential, short survey will be used to help the 23-member Tiffin-Seneca Entrepreneurship Committee (TSEC), its Chairs Bryce Riggs, Executive Director of the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Vice Chair Scott Johnson, Dean of Heidelberg University's School of Business and Technology, and TSEP staff with their strategic planning effort.

TSEC, as part of the TSEP efforts to promote entrepreneurship, is currently developing the community's first Entrepreneurship Strategic Plan (ESP). The ESP is being facilitated by Deb Martin and Roberta Streiffert of the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership as part of the Rural Communities Initiative. This phase of the planning process includes engaging the community through focus groups, surveys and guided dialogue with local leaders, business owners and community members to gather insight and information.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz is participating in the planning process and said, “Engaging the public through surveys like this one will ensure that our plan includes the best goals and resources to successfully grow our local entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

Bryce Riggs said “We encourage as many people as possible to participate in this brief survey so that we can find the best ways to serve our local entrepreneurs and business owners through the creation of this plan.”

Seneca County Commissioner Mike Kerschner said, “Entrepreneurs and small business owners play a crucial role in the overall health of our local economy. We are looking forward to the results of this survey so we can learn more about the local environment for entrepreneurship. Through this initiative, we hope to find ways to continue making our community a place where people want to locate their business.”
