TIFFIN, OHIO – Dec. 7, 2021 – The owner of a new experience-based business is excited to help people in Tiffin and Seneca County get in touch with their creative side. Studio 605 Fine Art, located in the heart of Downtown Tiffin on the second floor of the Laird Building, 120 1/2 S. Washington St., Suite 215, Tiffin, will have its grand opening on Dec. 14.

The business allows groups of people ages 10 and older to come together for acrylic and canvas paint parties. Events can include birthday parties, bachelorette parties, team building exercises and any other group, and the business allows people to bring in Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) beverages for those of legal age.

Owner April Clay has had a lifelong love of art, and found comfort in creating art as therapy. It was that and the recent formation of the Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission that helped her decide to pursue the business. “I’m so happy that I get the opportunity to share my passion with the community, and that I get to help people be excited about creating art.”

Tyler Shuff of Shuff Consulting said: “I’m happy to help another small business open successfully and to help encourage people to pursue the arts in Tiffin and Seneca County.”

Members of the community gathered with some of the partners of the Tiffin Community Reinvestment Group, Laird Building business owners and Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 30.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz congratulated Clay on the opening: “It is always a welcome experience to see a new business locating in Downtown Tiffin, and I’m especially encouraged by how this will connect with the mission of the Tiffin Arts Council.”

Studio 605 will be available for classes Monday through Friday 4-10 p.m. and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, like and follow Studio 605 on Facebook and Instagram, visit studio605fa.com, email studio605fa@gmail.com or call (567)-938-0605.

In 2021, Tiffin Community Reinvestment Group, which owns the Laird Building, has invested significantly in the property, including building updates, small renovation projects and a new lighted sign for the building, which was supported through a City of Tiffin Sign Enhancement Program grant and recently celebrated with a ribbon-cutting by the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce.

This year, five businesses in addition to Studio 605 have moved into the building, including 5K Construction, Hope’s Landing, JT’s Bagel Bar, Tiffin Youth Football and Yours with Every Stitch. In addition, Jolly’s, which has been in the building since 2017, recently went under new ownership.
