TIFFIN, OHIO – Dec. 21, 2021 – A new pallet manufacturing and logistics company is opening in Tiffin, bringing with it an investment of $2.6 million and plans to hire people immediately. Independent Pallet will locate in a portion of the former American Standard property, 324 4th Ave., Tiffin, and begin production in early 2022.

Independent Pallet will manufacture, recycle and distribute pallets to companies throughout the United States. Investments include new machinery and equipment, including vehicles and trailers, and materials. The company is looking to hire 30 employees, both laborers and drivers, soon, and expect to hire 150 employees in the next three years.

Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) worked with company to find the location and worked with local officials to help secure an incentive through the City of Tiffin’s New Jobs Program. During a meeting on Dec. 20, Tiffin City Council approved the program for Independent Pallet.

Owner Luke Cavanaugh said he’s excited to be in Tiffin: “We’re very excited to be bringing our business to Northwest Ohio and we’re ready to get started to work. Thank you to Tiffin City Council for their part in approving the New Jobs Program for us.” Matt Peace is a partner and developer for the project: “It’s been my dream to operate here in Seneca County, and I’m proud to be part of this venture.”

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz congratulated Independent Pallet on this announcement. “I’m proud to have a new manufacturer in Tiffin, bringing new jobs and life to one of our most notable properties. Additionally, I applaud Tiffin City Council’s support of the project through the New Jobs Program, and thank Council President Rich Focht for his efforts in helping to establish that program with the partnership of the City of Tiffin while he was involved with the economic development office. This project shows the benefits of having programs like this available to incentivize companies to locate in the City of Tiffin.”
