TIFFIN, OHIO – Dec. 22, 2021 – Grammer, formerly TMD, Inc., has announced that it is completing a 12-month expansion at its Tiffin facility with the transfer of equipment. This growth will better position the company to compete in the global automotive market and creates opportunities for new employment.

In the past 12 months, Grammer has moved in four blow molding machines – including one new and three transfers from Jefferson, Ohio – and five injection molding machines from Delphos Ohio. This fall, they completed the project for the year with the addition of three more injection molding machines. Grammer employs 316 people in Tiffin, and expect to add 12-15 press operators with these investments locally.

Grammer began more than 100 years ago in Amberg, Germany, and since then has developed from a regional manufacturer of seat cushions to a global player in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. Today, the company focuses on supplying supply headrests, armrests, center consoles and high-quality interior components to car manufacturers and system suppliers of the automotive industry and produces seats for the commercial vehicle industry. In 2018, Grammer took over Toledo Molding & Die Inc., including the Tiffin plant, which was established in Tiffin in 2003 at the Eagle Rock Business Park.

“I’m proud that Grammer Americas has chosen to invest in Tiffin and bring these new machines to our plant. We are looking to hire more staff soon as we continue to increase our production,” said Plant Manager Christian Tooman.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said, “I’m excited to hear that Grammer is continuing to invest in Tiffin and growing their workforce. I greatly appreciate their steadfast commitment to our community.”

Grammer is located at 1441 N. Maule Road. For more information, visit www.grammer.com or call (419) 443 9031.
