2017 was another record-setting year for the Facade Enhancement Program. The city’s $100,000 contribution was exhausted by April. A total of 16 grants were awarded for a total investment of $266,000.
- St. Paul’s United Methodist Church – Approved for a $4,950 grant as part of a roofing project.
- 25-27 S. Washington St. – Approved for a $10,000 grant as part of a roofing project.
- 29-31 S. Washington St. – Approved for a $10,000 grant as part of a roofing project.
- 132-134 S. Washington St. (Viewpoint Graphics) – Approved for a $4,500 grant for brick tuck-pointing and overall facade painting.
- 33 S. Washington St. – Approved for a $1,400 grant for replacement windows. This is the first building to take advantage of the “façade return” allowance approved in May 2016.
- 147 Madison St. (formerly Crystal Traditions) – Approved for a $10,000 grant for the replacement of storefront windows, man doors and a garage door, as well roof repairs.
- 137 S. Washington St. (Hank and Associates) – Approved for a grant of $2,250 for exterior painting and signage.
- 187 and 189 S. Washington St. – Approved for a combined $6,000 grant for storefront window replacement.
- 91-95 E. Perry St. – Approved for a $5,950 grant for roof repair and facade painting.
- 106 E. Perry St. (Tiffin Elks Lodge) – Approved for a $3,890 grant for window replacement and stucco repairs.
- 45 S. Washington St. (Phat Cakes) – Approved for a $1,450 grant for window replacement and repair.
- 135 S. Washington St. (Cabin Creations) – Approved for a $6,840 grant for roof and chimney repair.
- 144 S. Washington St. (Bookmyer) – Approved for a $10,000 grant to remove aluminum facing and restore the facade to its original appearance.
- 130 S. Washington St. (formerly Sports Cuts) – Approved for a $10,000 grant to restore the facade to its 1941 look including removing brick and restoring the storefront windows.
- 60-68 E. Perry St. (Bear’s Den) – Approved for a $10,000 grant for the replacement of second floor windows and first floor doors, balcony and tile repairs, painting, and the addition of exterior lighting.
- 92 S. Washington St. – Approved for a $2,750 grant (the last of the year) for roof repair.
