Since 2014, 89 projects approved for funding
TIFFIN, OHIO – June 2, 2021 – During its first in-person meeting since March 2020, the City of Tiffin Architectural Board of Review (ABR) approved a Façade Enhancement Grant for St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 46 Madison St., in Downtown Tiffin.
At the meeting Tuesday, the ABR approved a $750 grant for St. Paul’s, which is to be used for masonry tuck pointing and cleaning or coating. Additionally, the board approved a $2,344.06 grant for commercial property at 145-147 Madison St. on May 4 for replacement of a window and canopy. That building includes JAM’s Monthly Markets and Tiffin Pedal Co.
Combined, these projects total more than $6,000 in investment in Downtown Tiffin. Previously approved grant projects in 2021 include Façade Enhancement Grants for Bailiwicks Coffee Co. and State Farm Insurance and Sign Enhancement Grants for Locks by Cactus and Sisters in Shelter.
In 2020, the ABR approved grants for the owners of seven building in Downtown Tiffin for a total investment of $227,188.12.
Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz commented: “The Façade Enhancement Grant continues to be a success in providing building owners resources to beautify Downtown Tiffin.”
Since the Façade Enhancement Program’s inception in 2014, 89 projects have been approved for a total downtown investment of more than $2.6 million.
About the Façade Enhancement Program
The Façade Enhancement Program is a City of Tiffin reimbursement grant that was started in 2014 and provides a 50 percent match of funds for eligible exterior improvements on residential and commercial structures within the downtown historic district, up to $10,000.
