Owners have made significant investment into the business
TIFFIN, OHIO – March 8, 2021 – Having been a Tiffin staple for more than 30 years, Big Dipper has started its 2021 season with new owners, an updated menu and have invested into a facelift at the property.
Co-owners Sandi Stout and Mark Griffin bought Big Dipper in October 2020. So far, they have made a significant investment into the company with the building purchase, new equipment, registers, updated menu signs and building improvements. More property improvements are also being considered before the end of the year.
Additionally, the ice cream shop has a new menu, with many returning favorites and a few new food and ice cream options. Big Dipper will have two weekly food specials, and offers a wide variety of treats, including soft serve, Toft's Hard Dip Ice Cream, almond milk, Dole Whip, low-fat yogurt and sugar free ice cream, along with hand dipped novelties and specialties. They also offer holiday pies for those special occasions.
To celebrate the new ownership, a ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for April 14 at 4 p.m. Big Dipper is a member of the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Services.
“We’re very excited to be open full time for this new season and can’t wait to see everyone return,” Stout said.
“The growth in Tiffin has been so exciting to watch, and we’re proud to be part of that,” Griffin said.
Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz commented, “I’m glad to see that the Big Dipper’s new owners are investing in our community and growing a business that has long been a Tiffin tradition for many families.”
The Big Dipper is located at 380 Wentz St., and open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week during their business season. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/BigDipperTiffinOhio or call (419) 447-2131.
