Dream Big Tiffin received five new proposals and 16 new ideas this year
TIFFIN, OHIO – November 5, 2021 – On behalf of the City of Tiffin, Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) is excited to announce that the new community development project proposals and ideas submitted in this year’s Dream Big, Tiffin initiative have been posted online. TSEP is asking the public to go to dreambigtiffin.com to provide their feedback through Nov. 24, 2021.
Jodie Reinbolt, Chair of the Tiffin Community Development Committee and Executive Director of the Tiffin Community Foundation, explained what the public can expect from the process. “While there are no guarantees that any of these projects will be funded, or that they will occur, we do know that communities with stronger public engagement win more grants and get more projects done than they would have otherwise. We appreciate everyone’s participation.”
Last year, there were 10 project proposals with detailed description, budgets, and support documentation submitted, and since then, two of those projects have been completed: Salvation Army Parking Lot (private funding) and Seneca County Cares for Families (public/private funding) for this year. The remaining seven priority or recommended projects will remain on the list again this year: Court Street Alley improvements, South River Road Trail, Bunky Bike Tree, Community Kitchen, Trail Connections, South Washington Streetscape, and the Transformational Life Center.
New project proposals this year include a Community Garden, Cycling Without Age Program, Downtown Holiday Lighting, a Martin Luther King Monument, and Salvation Army Day Camps. Additionally, there are 16 new ideas that are being added to the 28 from last year, bringing the total community “wish list” to 44.
Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said, “Our city continues to get more public and private community development projects done than other cities our size. From our roads and bridges to our parks and trails, from our healthcare to education, we continue to make strides towards higher quality of life. This process is designed to help us accomplish more and know what the public thinks.”
