Community Brand Policy
This document outlines the Community Brand Guidelines for the Community Logo owned by Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp. doing business as SIEDC and doing business as Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership, a not-for-profit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Ohio, located at 19 W. Market St., Suite C Tiffin Ohio 44883 (hereinafter referred to as “TSEP”). This logo is currently in legal use by TSEP, Downtown Tiffin, the City of Tiffin, the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce, Destination Seneca County, Seneca County, and the Seneca Regional Planning Commission, among others.
What follows are a list of guidelines for the community logo as agreed upon by the Community Branding Policy Group. The group contains representatives of TSEP, the City of Tiffin, the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Services, and Seneca County, the four entities which funded the community brand initiative:
1. Ownership, Copyright & Trademark
SIEDC is the sole and exclusive owner of the following copyright and trademark, as evidenced by U.S. Copyright Application No. 1-6622025311, filed with the U.S. Copyright Office on May 27, 2018, and U.S. Trademark Application No. 87/933,766, filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on May 23, 2018 (hereinafter the “Community Logo”).
2. Use by Non-Licensed Entities
The Community Branding is not to be used by Organizations or Businesses that do not have a license agreement with the Licensor/Exclusive Owner, SIEDC. The Community Logo is not to be used for any other non- or for-profit event, service or product without the prior approval or consent of SIEDC or another Organization or Regional Entity in the Branding Family.
3. Licensing
A license agreement has been created for use by for- (FORM A) and not-for-profit (FORM B) businesses. Companies seeking to use the Community Branding in products for purchase must sign an agreement with the Licensor (SIEDC) and pay the required fee. There are no annual fees. The license agreement shall be in full force and effect commencing on the effective date and shall extend in perpetuity, or until the Licensor has exercised its right to terminate this Agreement upon thirty (30) days written notice to Licensee.
4. Products and Messaging
Licensee must adhere to guidelines that restrict certain products. Generally, no drug-, alcohol- or tobacco-related paraphernalia may be produced using the Community Branding.
5. Community Brand Guidelines
Generally, a licensee must adhere to the Community Brand Guidelines book, dated April 2018 (attached). Accordingly, the Community Branding should not be combined with any other logos, art or wording that is not already associated with a Brand Family (Page 3 of the Community Brand Guidelines, April 2018).
Additionally, each Organization or Regional Entity owns a unique color palette, and the full-color logo consists of three Pantone (PMS) colors. Pantone is a standardized color system used by printing and production vendors. When creating materials, have all printers and production vendors use these colors. This will ensure color consistency. This is outlined in Pages 6 of the attached Community Brand Guidelines.
Each entity may use one of four variations – Color, Black, Reverse and Grayscale (Page 5 of the Community Brand Guidelines). New logos created under a specific Brand Family are to maintain the colors as determined in these guidelines. As new organizations are added to the Community Branding, additional colors may be incorporated for a new Brand Family. Creation of a new Brand Family would be subject to fees and agreement among the governing body.
6. Annual Review
An annual review may be established for license agreement holders.
