One of the thirteen Tiffin City Parks, the Schekelhoff Nature Preserve was opened in the summer of 2009. The 8 foot wide, half-mile trail runs parallel with the Sandusky River and is located on the curve on Water Street behind the Water Pollution Control Center.
The preserve, 37 acres, provides unique natural scenery and access to the River. With a wide, paved walkway, the area is wheelchair accessible. Along the trail, there are a number of benches to stop, rest and take in the wonders of the park. At the end of the trail, there is a 16x16 shelter house perfect for a picnic or to relax. If you follow the trail farther north, there is an access trail to Clinton Park to further enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the Sandusky River.
The park is closed from dusk to dawn, and visitors are asked to follow all of the rules of the park.
