Residents encouraged to shop local this holiday season
TIFFIN, OHIO – December 12, 2023 – The Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) and Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the launch of the 2023 Shop Local, Win Big contest, made possible by a generous $500 donation from an anonymous private citizen. This initiative aims to encourage residents to support locally owned businesses during the holiday season and beyond.
Starting Friday, December 15th, through January 31, 2024, individuals can enter the contest by purchasing items from any participating locally owned business in the Tiffin area. Entries are limited to one per person per business per day, providing multiple opportunities for community members to participate and win.
Any locally owned business in Tiffin is eligible to participate in this year’s contest, however, businesses must pick up entry tickets at the TSEP/Chamber Offices Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, starting December 13th.
The grand prize winner will be selected on Friday, February 9th, at noon, with Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson drawing the winning ticket on Facebook Live. One lucky winner will walk away with $500 as a thank-you for shopping locally this holiday season.
TSEP President & CEO Aaron Montz expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign, stating, "The Shop Local, Win Big contest is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and support the unique businesses that make Tiffin special. By shopping locally, we not only contribute to the success of our entrepreneurs but also foster a stronger, more vibrant local economy."
Bryce Riggs, Seneca Regional Chamber Executive Director, emphasized the impact of shopping local, stating, "Nearly 70 cents for every dollar spent at a local business stays within our community, supporting jobs, community programs, and the overall well-being of our region. This contest is a great reminder of the collective power we hold as consumers to shape the economic landscape of the greater-Tiffin area."
The Seneca County Regional Chamber of Commerce and TSEP extend their gratitude to the anonymous donor whose generosity has made this contest possible. Their commitment to the community is inspiring and serves as an important reminder to shop local every day in Tiffin and Seneca County.
