Region finishes in top 10% for 12th Consecutive Year
TIFFIN, OHIO — [March 4th, 2024]
The Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership is thrilled to announce that the Tiffin-Seneca County Micropolitan Area has achieved a 13th place national ranking out of 542 similar-sized communities nationwide in Site Selection’s annual rankings of economic development projects. Micropolitans, defined as areas with populations ranging between 10,000 and 50,000, witnessed Tiffin-Seneca soar into the top 3% nationwide, marking the 12th consecutive year the region has secured its place in the prestigious top 10%.
This achievement underscores Tiffin-Seneca's unwavering commitment to economic growth and development. In 2023, the community witnessed transformative projects, contributing significantly to its stellar national standing. Notable projects include TPC Food Services $6 million Renovation of the former General Electric facility on Wall Street, a more than $2 million investment at American Plastics involving all-new machinery and equipment, and Aldridge Electric's successful arrival in the newly completed spec building at Eagle Rock Industrial Park.
Two Fostoria-area projects were also included in the rankings, a $13 million expansion of Ohio Logistics expansion and the $2 million construction of a new spec building at the Fostoria industrial park. The collaboration between the Fostoria Economic Development Corporation and TSEP has played a pivotal role in the sustained top 10% ranking for the Tiffin-Seneca Micropolitan Area.
President of the Seneca County Commissioners, Tony Paradiso, expressed his enthusiasm for this achievement, stating, "The consistent recognition of Tiffin-Seneca County among the top Micropolitan areas in the nation is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our community. This ranking reflects our collective commitment to fostering an environment where businesses thrive and residents prosper."
Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson also shared his thoughts on this remarkable accomplishment, saying, "Tiffin continues to set the standard for economic success in Micropolitan areas. Our community's ability to attract and support businesses is a testament to the strength of our partnerships. This achievement is a source of pride for every resident of Tiffin."
