Image removed.Tiffin is a midwestern city located in northwest Ohio with a population of about 18,000. Out of the more than 800 cities in the Midwest with a population exceeding 10,000, it ranks #511. Although it may be smaller in size, it ranks near the top most when it comes to entrepreneurship. Today, Talent Tribune blog editor Katherine Wood published an article entitled, "The Best Midwest Places to Start a Business." In it she used Census data on net small business growth, net small business employee growth, and percent of businesses that employ less than 20 employees to develop her index, and Tiffin ranked #7. This is what she wrote:
Tiffin originally made its name as a glass and porcelain manufacturing center and as the home to both Heidelberg and Tiffin Universities. Now, its small businesses grow at a rate of about 1.5% yearly. This town in Seneca County has a lot for small businesses.
I couldn't agree more, and the number of new businesses starting up and growing has been incredible. Here is a sampling of more than 20 of the small businesses that started up, changed hands, or took on a new locale in the Tiffin MSA last year:   [gallery columns="2" type="rectangular" ids="https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/beehive-chamber-e1421371556179.jpg|Beehive Cafe Owner Ashlee Decker signs ribbon at Chamber opening event.,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/2014-10-14-08-23-17.jpg|,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014_04_15-z-pulse-owners.jpg|Z Pulse Fitness Studio Charro and Ali Saad celebrate opening their new business in the Laird Arcade this yeare.,https://tiffinseneca.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014_04_15-rodgers-flowers-external-closer.jpg|Another Tiffin institution - Tom Rodgers Flowers."]
