The public is invited to experience a new and unique pop-up "shop" featuring local crafters and artisans who specialize in quality, handmade items, along with food producers and other creative merchants. The event will be held on
Saturday, May 28 from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
Laird Arcade Building and coincides with the first
Seneca County Farmers Market of the season.
The organizer behind Uptown Flea is
TiffinOhio.org owner Merre Phillips, who explained her inspiration: "I love these kind of events and have recently attended indie craft fairs and markets in Columbus and Toledo and knew that the same kind of talented crafters and makers were right here in our own community. With the popularity of these kind of events and with websites like Etsy.com, it felt like the right time to bring a creative group of vendors together in order for them to showcase and sell their products to a local market."
Merre said that if the Uptown Flea goes well, she is looking forward to scheduling future dates for this event.
