Head Shed completes renovation of business

Salon has operated in Tiffin since 1972

TIFFIN, OHIO – June 16, 2020 – The Head Shed, which has been operating in Tiffin since 1972, recently completed a major renovation of its salon at 716 W. Market St. Updates include all new stations, dryers and chairs, updated manicure and pedicure areas, new plumbing and electric, and plans are in place to install new flooring throughout the business.

The salon, which is co-owned by Chris Nominee and Serena Costantini, has 10 employees and offers services including hair cuts, perms, coloring, highlights, up dos, manicures, pedicures and waxing.

“This was the right time to do it,” Nominee said.

“The renovation has been needed and was highly anticipated by the clients and all our stylists,” Costantini said. “We are very excited to invest in our business and continue to grow with the community!”

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said: “I’m pleased to see that our businesses owners are continuing to invest in Tiffin. In the midst of the pandemic, I’m happy to say that the business community in Tiffin and Seneca County is strong.”

Head ShedMeet Margie Hodges and Chris Nominee, owners of Head Shed of Tiffin, located at 716 W. Market St. The salon started out as Westgate Hair Fashions and became Head Shed 34 years ago. The shop offers all kinds of hair services, manicures and pedicures, massages, detoxes and much more. The ladies at the salon can claim more than 200 years of combined experience and excellent customer service. “The clients know each other, it’s a family atmosphere and everyone is friendly. It’s one of the reasons I don’t want to retire yet!,” Margie said.

The ladies at the Head Shed are also very involved with Relay For Life. Each year they hold a bake sale, which brings in about $700 for their Relay team. They also sell handmade scarves – individual and in sets made for children and dolls – and donate a portion of the proceeds to the cause.
