Seneca Regional Planning Commission seeking Planning & Administrative Assistant

rpc-logoThe Seneca Regional Planning Commission is seeking to hire a talented individual to join an organization responsible for planning and community development for one of the top counties in Ohio and the Midwest in terms of agriculture and economic development.

The Planning & Administrative Assistant position will be responsible for various planning and administrative functions. Administrative functions will include, but are not limited to, assisting with the daily administrative duties of the Seneca County Sewer District, drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files and providing information to callers. Planning functions will include, but are not limited to, aiding in the grant management process for all grants administered by the Seneca Regional Planning Commission and performing work on the countywide Geographic Information System (GIS), including accessing information, entering data, and preparing maps as requested.

The preferred candidate will have experience in grant administration, bookkeeping, and GIS. An Associate’s Degree or higher with a focus on Planning, Business Management, Geographic Information Systems, or other related field is preferred. The ideal candidate would possess three years of administrative support experience, three years of grant administration experience and computer experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). OMJMeet the staff of the OhioMeansJobs – Seneca County, part of Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services, located at 900 E. County Road 20. They offer many services for job seekers as well as employers. These services include basic job search services, resume development, training reimbursement and assistance for layoffs. They even provide training dollars for eligible job seekers obtaining skills for an in demand job.
