Events taking place throughout month of September
TIFFIN, OHIO – August 28, 2020 – Join with community and business leaders in commemorating a year of success for Downtown Tiffin with the 2020 Downtown Celebration. In an effort to maintain social distancing, the event is being broken up into three parts taking place throughout the month of September — Downtown Tiffin Stories, Downtown Tiffin Summit Stroll and Downtown Summit and Celebration.
Beginning Sept. 1, Downtown Tiffin Stories promotes popular downtown destination businesses every day during the month. Look for pictures and information on many of the great local businesses in the community on the Downtown Facebook page. Click here to view the event on Facebook.
Beginning Sept. 7, the Downtown Tiffin Summit Stroll is a self-guided walking tour of Downtown Tiffin. Throughout the downtown, large stickers are to be placed in front of businesses, buildings and landmarks with QR codes that link to videos highlighting the exciting development projects of recent years. Residents and those visiting the community can take part in the free walking tour in a single day or through the month. Click here to view the event on Facebook.
Finally, the Downtown Summit and Celebration will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 on GoToMeeting. The event will feature the Downtown Tiffin Awards Ceremony, a presentation by Joyce Barrett, Executive Director of Heritage Ohio and comments from Downtown Tiffin Main Street Manager Amy Reinhart. The revitalization of downtown Tiffin began in 2011, when a group of community members came together to for “Tiffin Tomorrow”, with the goal of promoting and encouraging economic development in downtown Tiffin, and creating plans, programs and actions to ensure long-term vitality and prosperity. In 2014, the city of Tiffin contracted with SIEDC to act as the downtown organization and “Tiffin Tomorrow” came under the SIEDC umbrella as the “Downtown Development Committee,” which serves as the governing board of the downtown organization.
